AMCOL Honors Late President and CEO

Columbia, SC – (June 22, 2016) AMCOL Systems has donated $1,180.00 to JDRF in memory of the company’s late President and CEO Jay Rickman, JR. “Jay Rickman was a great friend to the JDRF Palmetto Chapter and is missed by so many people throughout South Carolina,” says Kevin Simmons, executive director of JDRF. “The fact that his employees chose to honor his memory with a donation to JDRF means a great deal to our organization, and we will continue to work hard to turn type one into type none in his memory.”

Over the years the AMCOL family has raised over $82,000 for JDRF alone. JDRF is the leader in funding Type 1 diabetes research and is currently sponsoring $530 million in scientific research. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to eventually cure T1D. This JDRF donation far exceeds AMCOL’s work with their Care2Share program. Care2Share is AMCOL’s employee funded and directed program which raises funds for employee-selected charities throughout the midlands.
